Jonathan Oakley Prell 

Jonathan Oakley Prell is currently enrolled at the University of Alabama, with plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in May 2022. He is also an MBA Candidate in UA’s Manderson Graduate School of Business with anticipated completion in May 2023.

During the 2020-2021 school year, Jonathan worked with JANUS to develop and execute a senior capstone project for students in the University of Alabama’s STEM Path to the MBA program. This challenged students to design an advanced technology interior for a business aircraft utilizing modern technology, software, and techniques. Jonathan gained diverse skills and backgrounds to collaborate with leading professionals to fulfill project deliverables.

Most of Jonathan’s early experiences have been in the automotive industry. At the University of Alabama, he has managed the Formula SAE student design team, and will soon start as the Project Manager for UA EcoCAR. He is also a member of Capstone Motorsports, a Mercedes-AMG GT4 Customer Racing team that competes in the SRO Pirelli GT4 America series and IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.  

In other experience, Jonathan has completed a Finance and Business Operations internship with Lockheed Martin in the summer of 2020. In May of 2021, he started a Research Experience for Undergraduates, funded by the National Science Foundation, to perform operations research focused on network interdiction.
